Since his earliest years, he was destined with locating and facilitating the best in others, through the best he ever found in himself such was the strength he was gifted with in facing difficult circumstances of his life.

In 1955 at the age of 15 he joined the Seminary and successfully scaled through the formation processes, and was ordained a priest of Vijawada Diocese in 1966. As a Priest of the aforementioned diocese, he worked tenaciously, having so much good examples and model of fruitful priesthood. He was appointed to become the chancellor and procurator of a newly established diocese from Vijawada Diocese, in the name Eluru in the year 1976.

Unfortunately, the cyclone of 1977 had a serious effect in the state of Andra Pradesh, hence, forcing out the better him from inside. Fr. Jose took up the challenging task of closely caring for the victims and supporting the rehabilitated centres. In the year 1978, Fr. Jose went for an intensive study in Canon Law (for three years), and in 1981 had returned to Eluru Diocese.

His love for the people who affectionately approached him and his bold missionary initiatives for development work and the empowerment of the less privileged, downtrodden and the forgotten is ever remarkable. Been attracted to the life of fully given for the elevation of the downtrodden, expressively, the act of compassion, Fr. Jose founded the Missionaries of Compassion. And modelled its constitution on that same charism. He died on Mach 19, 2018. At the time of his passing away the Institute had fully established in India, Italy, America and in two countries in Africa.
